Myrtle Anne McLaren
(Allaband)
Mrs. Myrtle Anne Allaband McLaren, age 70, of Delaware City, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 30, 2006, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Kennett Square, PA on June 20, 1936 to the late William and Myrtle Allaband. Growing up she attended the First Baptist Church of Kennett Square and graduated from Kennett High School in 1954. Myrtle Anne married Donald McLaren of Wilmington, DE in 1958.
Myrtle Anne was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Allaband; and a sister, Maryetta Allaband Barnett. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Donald N. McLaren, Sr.; son, Donald N. McLaren, Jr. and wife, Mendy, of Bear; daughter, Deborah Miller and husband, Leonard, of New Castle; sister, Shirley Poole and husband, Donald, of Unionville, PA; brother, William Allaband and wife, Kathleen, of Cochranville, PA; sister-in-law, Mary Allaband, of Berlin, MD; brother-in-law, Guy Barnett, of Springdell, PA; and many nieces & nephews. Myrtle Anne was a devoted grandmother to her 10 grandchildren, John, Lauren, Roland, Alexandria, Corey, Jeremy, Michelle, Gabrielle, Sara and Henry. She recently welcomed her first great-grandson, Roland, Jr.
Friends may call 6-8 pm, on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 214 Clinton St., Delaware City. A funeral service will be held at 10 am, on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Delaware City Cemetery.
